    The creek group sings fast, the oak group sings slow, and each wants Parker to pick theirs. Soon nobody hears music at all.

    Parker stands at the smooth stone between them and hums a low note, small enough for everyone to find.

    The singers stop to listen. They find the beat both songs share and make new music together.
