    Lexi and Dakota always meet at the willow when the return bell rings. Tonight Dakota doesn’t come.

  2. A brave choice

    Lexi doesn’t decide Dakota forgot. She asks Bayley to check the creek path and waits right where Dakota will look for her.

  3. A happy turn

    Bayley brings Dakota back safe; she stopped to help a lost baby turtle. “I knew where you’d be,” Dakota says.

And the moral of the story

“Good friends stick together.”
